This training empowers participants to understand and engage in mental health advocacy at personal, workplace, and community levels. Participants will explore what it means to advocate for mental health, whether by speaking up, influencing policy, or challenging stigma. The session will highlight how systems, laws, and organizational policies shape mental health access and outcomes. By the end, each participant will identify at least one concrete action they can take to support mental health advocacy in their own sphere of influence.

1. Define Mental Health Advocacy: Explain what advocacy means in the context of mental health (e.g., speaking up, supporting policy changes, reducing stigma, etc.).
2. Highlight the Role of Policy and Systems: Discuss how laws, workplace policies, and public services impact mental health access and outcomes.
3. Encourage Action: Participants will write at least on concrete step they can take toward advocating—such as joining campaigns, supporting mental health organizations, or starting conversations in their communities.
4. Demonstrate effective communication strategies to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
