Participants will learn to apply evidence-based strategies to support supervisees in conducting risk assessments and brief interventions effectively. The training emphasizes using mock scenarios and role play to evaluate competence, ensuring fidelity to established suicide risk screening and assessment tools. Supervisors will also gain skills in guiding supervisees through the development of comprehensive safety plans using case-based learning.

1. Evaluate supervisee competence using mock scenarios and role play in supervision sessions to ensure fidelity to suicide risk screening and assessment tools and limit drift from best practice.
2. Implement 1-2 evidence-based supervision practices to ensure competent practice in risk assessment and other brief interventions.
3. Guide supervisees in developing a comprehensive safety plan by reviewing case scenarios and outlining components of an effective safety planning.
4. Demonstrate effective communication strategies to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care outcomes.

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
