This course has been developed primarily for licensed nurses (RNs and LPNs) to enhance their knowledge of the Ohio Board of Nursing Laws and Rules. Content will include an overview on the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN), Licensure Updates, Continuing Education and Patient Safety. Completion of this course meets the Ohio law requirement for 1.0 Category A continuing education (CE).

1. Review the Ohio Board of Nursing's function and purpose and identify where to go for resources to stay up-to-date with the laws and rules.
2. Discuss the Ohio Laws and Rules updates on Reporting a Misdemeanor or Felony and on the Nurse Licensure Compact.
3. Describe the Ohio Board of Nursing requirements for Continuing Education and audit process.
4. Review the Disciplinary Actions related to Substance Use and Diversion

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
