This training is part of the Partners for Kids-Behavioral Health Education Series! Registration is intended for Partners for Kids providers. A Zoom link and further instructions will be sent closer to the actual training date.

This series provides participants with the opportunity to learn from internal experts in the behavioral health field. Relevant behavioral health topics and evidence-based practice tools are presented in a monthly lecture format.

 

Session description: This activity will provide you with information about the different types of prescribers, components of a psychiatric assessment, diagnostic categories, and common medications used to treat various pediatric mental health concerns. Resources will be shared that you can use to further your own education and that you can provide to patients and families in your clinical practice. Finally, we will engage in a discussion about collaborative care, with an emphasis on what information, especially related to diagnostic and medication concerns, to share with prescribers.

1. Review the components of a psychiatric assessment
2. Outline various diagnostic categories and common medications utilized
3. Detail resources for further review and dissemination to patients and families
4. Provide a prescriber’s perspective on collaborative care
5. Outline diagnostic and medication concerns that should be relayed to prescribers

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
