Supervision can be challenging—especially when it comes to giving and receiving feedback or building consistent skill sets. This session introduces practical behavior principles, including Behavior Skills Training (BST), to help supervisors support growth in a clear, structured, and positive way. We'll explore simple strategies to overcome common barriers and create a supervision process that feels collaborative, effective, and empowering.

1. List at least three common barriers to effective supervision and describe behavior-based strategies to address each.
2. Identify and define the four components of Behavior Skills Training (BST) and explain their role in teaching clinical skills.
3. Demonstrate the use of BST by role-playing a supervision scenario that includes instruction, modeling, rehearsal, and feedback.
4. Deliver constructive feedback using behavior analytic principles, ensuring clarity, specificity, and reinforcement of desired behaviors.
5. Use one Motivational Interviewing technique (e.g., open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening) to promote collaboration during supervision.
6. Demonstrate effective communication strategies to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care outcomes
