BH EPIC Super User Training

Accurate and effective use of the electronic health record is an important component of behavioral health clinical practice, supporting clinical documentation, communication among members of the treatment team, continuity of care, and patient safety. This training prepares Behavioral Health Epic super users and their supervisors and managers to support clinicians in using Epic effectively. Participants will examine the role of the Epic super user in promoting accurate clinical documentation and consistent clinical workflows, including supporting new clinicians, responding to workflow questions, and identifying barriers that may affect access to clinically relevant information. Participants will apply adult learning and coaching principles to support clinician competency and adoption of behavioral health documentation practices. The training will also introduce a structured approach for evaluating reported Epic concerns, including determining whether a concern reflects a clinician knowledge gap, workflow issue, or potential system problem and identifying the appropriate intervention or escalation pathway. By strengthening the quality of Epic education, troubleshooting, and change management, this training supports accurate clinical documentation, effective interdisciplinary communication, consistent workflows, and timely access to information—all of which contribute to improved behavioral health outcomes.

Session will be in person on 10/8/26 at the Conference Center in Room CD 2.6 A&B.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
