2026 Quality Tool School (QTS) Offerings

Build Your Quality Improvement Skills with Practical Tools.
All classes are held virtually via Microsoft Teams - you will receive a calendar invite after registering.

Prerequisite - “FUN”damentals of Excel
            - Utilize pre-recorded training videos to make sure you have a base knowledge in excel
before going through QTS. Free video links will be shared with you upon QTS Series registration.

Class 1 - QI Project Tools 1: Tuesday, May 5 (1 -2 PM)
            - Explore the Model for Improvement framework
            - Identify key QI principles and project planning strategies
            - Learn how to structure and launch an effective improvement project
            - Recognize the roles of teams, data, and testing in QI work

Class 2 - QI Project Tools 2: Tuesday, May 12 (1 -2 PM)  
            - Practice applying the steps of a QI project
            - Understand and implement the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle
            - Develop skills to interpret results and plan next steps
            - Gain confidence in leading iterative improvement efforts                                                 

Class 3 - QI Data - How to “Get” It: Tues, May 19 (1 -2 PM)
            - Identify and define different types of data and measurement strategies  
            - Understand process, outcome, and balancing measures
            - Explore how data is collected and used
            - Learn how to build and interpret a Pareto chart

Class 4 - Charts - You're in Control: Tues, May 26 (1 -2 PM)
            - Understand the components of a control chart
            - Learn the difference between common cause and special cause variation
            - Identify which charts to use for different types of data
            - Practice interpreting charts to guide improvement decisions

Use this option to register for the entire 4-class series of Quality Tool School to get the $100/class discount. 

Use the individual external Quality Tool School offerings if you would like to register for classes individually. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

Nationwide Children's Hospital reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
