ASL I - American Sign Language - March 3 - April 21, 2026 - 4-5:30pm

ASL I: Introduction to American Sign Language

This 8-week course provides an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Students will develop foundational skills, including the alphabet, numbers, basic vocabulary, and beginning sentence structure.

Topics include:

• Grammar and structure of ASL

• Fingerspelling the alphabet

• Signing numbers

• Everyday vocabulary

• Simple phrases and interactions

Program Details:

• Location: Nationwide Children’s Hospital Education Center

• Schedule: Meets once per week for eight weeks

• Certificate: Awarded at the final class (minimum attendance of 6 out of 8 sessions required)

• Enrollment: Minimum of six (6) participants required; registrants will be notified one week in advance if the class is canceled
