Dr. Jamie Boster and Bridgett Collins visit the studio as we consider the challenges faced by children with complex communication needs and the role of speech-language pathologists in helping families overcome them. We also explore augmentative and alternative communication devices and their role in helping families communicate. We hope you can join us!

1. Define “complex communication needs (CCN)” and “augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
2. Describe the role and impact AAC devices have on patients and families challenged by CCN.
3. Explain the role speech-language pathologists play in meeting CCN with ACC devices.
4. Provide anticipatory guidance to families with CCN regarding ACC options, training and benefits.

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
