Overview
Dr Benard Dreyer visits the PediaCast Studio as we consider child advocacy and the importance of making a difference for kids and families at home and around the world. We explore the development of an advocacy plan, identify common barriers and pitfalls and share practical tips for success. We hope you can join us!

Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Define child advocacy and describe its impact on children, families and communities.
  2. Identify a particular group of children and families and consider their unique needs and challenges.
  3. Brainstorm, study and plan actions that serve to advocate for the group you have identified.
  4. Recognize barriers and pitfalls in your child advocacy work and develop a plan to avoid and overcome them.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
