Overview

The 17th Annual Pediatric Asthma Conference is a multidisciplinary educational activity designed to enhance the knowledge, competence, and clinical practice of healthcare professionals involved in the care of children and adolescents with asthma and allergic diseases. This conference will provide participants with current evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis, management, and prevention of asthma, with a particular focus on the application of Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) recommendations, emerging research, and individualized patient care strategies.

Pre-conference Allergy Symposium Topics include:

  • Common and emerging allergic conditions, including food allergies, drug allergies, urticaria, atopic dermatitis, and alpha-gal syndrome

  • Practical management strategies for allergic disease

17th Annual Pediatric Asthma Conference Topics include:

  • Guideline implementation

  • Clinical decision-making across pediatric age groups

  • Asthma management in school, sports, and community settings

  • The impact of comorbidities on asthma outcomes

  • Trigger identification and allergen avoidance

  • Advances in biologic therapies and other emerging treatments

Through expert presentations, case-based discussions, and interactive learning activities, participants will gain practical skills to improve outcomes and quality of life for pediatric patients with asthma and allergic conditions.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply current evidence-based guidelines, including GINA recommendations, to the assessment and management of pediatric asthma across diverse clinical settings.
  2. Implement emerging evidence and best practices to optimize treatment outcomes for children and adolescents with asthma.
  3. Evaluate clinical factors that influence asthma control, including age, disease severity, environmental exposures, and treatment adherence.
  4. Identify the impact of comorbid conditions, including obesity, obstructive sleep apnea, and allergic diseases, on asthma outcomes and management strategies.
  5. Develop patient-centered asthma management plans that support participation in school, sports, and community activities.
  6. Incorporate evidence-based approaches to trigger identification, allergen avoidance, and patient/family education into clinical practice.
  7. Differentiate among common pediatric allergic conditions, including urticaria, food allergy, drug allergy, atopic dermatitis, and alpha-gal syndrome, to support accurate diagnosis and management.
  8. Assess common myths and misconceptions related to asthma and allergic disease that may contribute to gaps in care and patient outcomes.
  9. Evaluate the appropriate use of biologic therapies and other advanced treatment options for pediatric patients with asthma and allergic diseases.
  10. Apply clinical decision-making strategies through case-based learning and collaboration across the healthcare team to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of pediatric asthma and allergic conditions.
