Overview

This conference is designed for health care providers who treat pediatric patients with sports medicine injuries and orthopedic problems. Friday afternoon breakout tracks available in Sports Medicine, Rehabilitation, and MSK Ultrasound.

Saturday will feature two hands-on breakout sessions: an MSK ultrasound workshop scanning pediatric models, and a rehabilitation lab highlighting treatment techniques for pediatric sports and orthopedic patients.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Outline the interventions necessary to build bone health in adolescents.
  2. Know how to best prevent overuse injuries in young athletes.
  3. Explain the importance of sports nutrition in fueling for specific sports.
  4. Recognize the role of the healthcare team in preventing abuse in young athletes in sport.
  5. Assess the epidemiology, diagnosis and management of gymnastics injuries.
  6. Identify the latest approach to repairing ACL injuries.

Registration will close Friday, November 13, 2026.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.

Maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (11.0 hours), AAPA Credit(s) (11.0 hours), BOC (Athletic Trainer) (11.0 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (11.0 hours)

Please note:  7.0 credits will be provided for completion of Friday's program only.

Physical Therapy: This course will be submitted for 11.0 PT CEUs through the OPTA. 7.0 credits will be provided for completion of Friday's program only.

Medicine CME 
Nationwide Children’s Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital (BOC AP#: P3772) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 11.0 Category A CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program. 

AAPA Statement

Nationwide Children's Hospital has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. We are unable to accommodate requests to convert in-person registration to virtual participation (or vice versa) after registration closes on Friday, November 13, 2026.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].
