Join us for the 2027 Ohio Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Annual Conference on Friday, March 5, 2027, at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. 

Now in its fourth year, the Ohio EMSC Annual Conference is a statewide educational event designed to advance the clinical knowledge, skills, and Pediatric Readiness of prehospital and emergency department professionals. Through keynote presentations, breakout sessions, panel discussions, interactive learning opportunities, and general lectures, participants will engage in evidence-based education focused on improving outcomes for children in emergency settings. 

This year's keynote speaker is Philip Spinella, MD, FCCM, Professor of Surgery and Critical Care Medicine and Co-Director of the Trauma & Transfusion Medicine Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh.

The conference brings together EMS professionals, emergency department teams, nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, educators, Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators (PECCs), and healthcare leaders from across Ohio. Attendees will gain practical insights, learn from nationally recognized experts, and explore strategies that support pediatric-focused care, quality improvement, and emergency preparedness across healthcare systems. 

Whether you provide care in the prehospital environment, emergency department, or hospital setting, the Ohio EMSC Conference offers a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate, network, and connect with colleagues who share a commitment to improving outcomes for Ohio's children.

• High-Performance CPR 

  • High-Performance CPR - a new, highly interactive 4-hour workshop hosted by the Maryland Resuscitation Academy. This comprehensive educational experience focuses on team-based resuscitation strategies, performance optimization, communication, leadership, and evidence-based approaches to improving cardiac arrest outcomes via a train-the-trainer model.

  • The workshop consists of:

    Part 1: 9:40 AM - 11:45 AM
    Part 2: 12:15 PM - 2:20 PM

• Participants enrolled in High-Performance CPR will remain in the workshop for both sessions and will not attend any other breakout sessions outside of general lectures. Participants selecting High-Performance CPR as their first-choice preference will be assigned to the workshop pending available capacity.

1. Describe evidence-based practices that support pediatric readiness across prehospital and hospital settings.
2. Apply pediatric-specific assessment, stabilization, resuscitation, and management principles to improve outcomes for ill and injured children.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and coordinated pediatric emergency care.
4. Implement strategies that advance pediatric readiness, performance improvement, patient safety, and quality of care within emergency care systems.

After selecting your base registration rate, you will be prompted to choose your breakout session preferences. Several breakout sessions have limited enrollment and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is highly recommended, as some sessions may reach capacity before the registration deadline.

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

Nationwide Children's Hospital reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.

** Due to a large conference at the Downtown Convention Center (The Arnold Classic), we encourage you to book  your hotel rooms early.   The downtown area will sell out, with prices being higher at properties near the Columbus Convention Center.
