Lecture based presentations on information gathered by Resident's conclusion per class information presented.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Why Use Evidence-Based Dentistry? - Jamie Wade - Review the latest evidence-based research on dental health and incorporate recommendations into practice.
  2. Understanding Dental Caries - Callihan Clayton - Communicate to patients and families the importance of regular brushing and flossing to decrease the incidents of caries developing.
  3. Diet and Dental Caries - Emyli Peralta - Properly discuss the cause and effect of the food and drinks we consume and promote healthy eating and hygiene habits.
  4. Fluoride in the Dental Office - Bethany Linkous - Review how fluoride in the dental office can have a positive impact on our oral health.
  5. Fluoride at Home - Brandon Simmons - Communicate where fluoride sources at home can be located and how they can benefit our daily oral health.
  6. Sealants - Claudia Larochelle - Communicate the importance of dental sealants to patients and families and improve overall placement techniques.
  7. Plaque Control and Oral Health - Lexi Adkins - Recognize, understand and communicate plaque sources and the importance of plaque management.
  8. Toothaches and Dental Infection - Jaela Stith - Discuss the common periodontal problems in children and adolescents in order to educate patients and families.
  9. Periodontal Disease in Children - Jared Jacobson - Discuss the common periodontal problems in children and adolescents in order to educate patients and families.
  10. The Exam/ Recall visit - Lana Amer - Review the structure of routine hygiene appointments and implement evidence-based approaches to patient care.
