2026 Pediatric Otolaryngology Research Symposium

Conference is an in-person conference that is directed to presenting clinical updates and research discoveries for the otolaryngologic care of children. This one-day meeting will include expert panels, multidisciplinary discussions, and strategies to improve quality of care of children.

ASHA CEU's will be available, certificates sent only to attendees that do not pay into the registry. 

1. Review current clinical practice guidelines for the medical and surgical management of otolaryngologic conditions
2. Learners will be able to describe clinical hearing outcomes for children who have conductive or mixed hearing loss and use atBCI.
3. Learners will be able to describe interventions utilized in an attempt to increase the rate of completion of a speech and language evaluation prior to 12 months of age for children with permanent hearing loss.
4. Discuss novel translational therapies for the management of complex pediatric otolaryngologic disease
5. Recognize key foundational and emerging topics in the evaluation of the child with dysphagia
6. Understand the dysphagia evaluation and management services offered by the otolaryngology and speech pathology department at NCH
7. Gain familiarity with the specifics of the IDDSI framework for thickened liquids, including the pragmatic concerns for families and caregivers.
8. Improve understanding of the relative benefits and concerns with available thickening agents/regimens available to patients at NCH
9. Participant will describe how Expiratory Muscle Strength Training can be used to target improved swallowing, speech and voice in pediatric populations
10. Critically appraise and apply the latest research findings to clinical practice, enhancing the quality of care provided by the healthcare team
11. Improve collaboration and communication among the healthcare team by working together on care plans and recommendations.

We are unable to accommodate requests to convert in-person registration to virtual participation (or vice versa) after registration closes on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

Nationwide Children's Hospital reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.
