Overview

Having Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) can be hard and feel lonely. Like you are the only family navigating the challenges. At this event, we will explore the Heart (common illnesses, prevention and diagnostics), the Body (exercise, nutrition and family planning) and the Mind (the patient, the caregiver and the family). You can also visit display tables from local and national organizations. It’s a great way to make connections with others who share your passion and journey!

9am – Welcome
9:20am – Opening Remarks: The Heart, Body, Mind Connection
9:30-11am – Workshop Tracks

A. Heart
· 9:30-10am: Common Illnesses and CHD Review
· 10-10:25am: Preventative Cardiology
· 10:30-11am: Overview of Common Diagnostic Tools

B. Body
· 9:30-10am: Exercise and how CHD may affect physical capabilities
· 10-10:25am: Nutrition
· 10:30-11am: Family Planning

C. Mind
· 9:30-10am: The Patient
· 10-10:25am: The Caregiver
· 10:30-11am: The Family

11-11:30am – Break/Visit Exhibitor Tables
11:30am-12pm – Closing: The Future of CHD

 

There will be a place for school age children to play games, have fun and get to know each other, and another room for childcare. Children in childcare must be out of diapers.

A light breakfast will be provided.
