Overview

The Neonatal Simulation Conference is designed for delivery hospital and neonatal intensive care professionals. Participants will work in small group settings in immersive multidisciplinary patient care simulations focusing on care of the premature and ill neonate. In addition, the didactic sessions will give participants additional training on how to integrate simulation and debriefing into their practice setting as preceptors or educators.

This conference is intended for healthcare providers who provide care to newborns in the labor and delivery unit, newborn nursery and neonatal special/intensive care nursery, as well as those caring for newborns in a non-traditional setting.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe 2-3 simulation techniques that can be utilized for training healthcare providers who care for neonates.
  2. Explain how to utilize simulation-based education to optimize neonatal outcomes by participating in simulated a series of patient care scenarios.
  3. Discuss the qualities of highly effective resuscitation teams after participating in the resuscitation of a simulated infant patient.

Registration

When registering, you will be asked to rank the breakout sessions you would like to attend. Your preferences will be taken into consideration when assigning the sessions, but in order to guarantee that there is a balanced group in each session, we will assign participants into groups. This will be based on your input as well as your role (RN, MD/DO, RT, etc.) as well as the level of hospital you work at. Once the sessions are assigned, you are unable to switch to a different session.

Please double check your profile information is correct. This information will be used to place you in your breakouts, but also to ensure you receive the correct CE credit.
