Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Explain practical applications for sports medicine professionals to develop physical literacy for all youth
  2. Summarize the steps to implement a community-based injury prevention program
  3. Outline the basics of training theory and design in the adolescent runner
  4. Identify appropriate return to overhead serving exercises for the adolescent volleyball athlete
  5. Distinguish the differences in tissue restrictions and healing timelines and their impact on rehabilitation in the patient that is post-operative patellar instability
  6. Explain how to modify common therapeutic exercises for the adolescent runner
  7. Explain appropriate treatment strategies for the pelvic floor of the adolescent athlete
  8. Identify appropriate interventions to assist with returning the high level adolescent athlete to sport
