Overview
Dr Dara Albert visits the studio as we discuss seizures and epilepsy. We cover the new classification system for seizures and the causes, diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. Learn management of acute seizures in the primary care office and anticipatory guidance for families impacted by these conditions. We hope you can join us!

Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Define seizures and epilepsy; describe the various types of seizures common in children.
  2. Develop a differential diagnosis and work-up plan for the pediatric patient presenting with apparent seizures.
  3. Support the child having an active seizure and intervene to stop it.
  4. Identify medical and surgical treatment options for children with epilepsy; provide anticipatory guidance for families regarding their use.
