Featuring afternoon tracks in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Due to NCH COVID-19 safety protocols, in-person attendance is limited and this year attendees must choose an afternoon breakout track. Those in-person attendees choosing the Rehabilitation Track will be able to view a live stream of the morning session. Live stream of the Sports Medicine track will also be available to those attending the Rehabilitation Track.

Intended Audience: This conference is designed for physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers.

Rugby is an international sport that is being played more frequently in the United States, including at the youth level.  This talk will give a cursory overview of the sport itself, and how it compares/contrasts with American Football.  The talk will also review the specific safety risks of rugby, and the comparative incidence of injuries in rugby vis-à-vis other contact sports.  Finally, we will review the appropriateness of contact sports like youth rugby in the context of the global pandemic of pediatric inactivity.
