Overview
The Pediatric Cardiology Symposium is an annual conference for health care providers who treat and evaluate pediatric patients. The conference will address the diagnosis, management, and indications for referral for common pediatric cardiology diagnoses through a combination of lectures, panel discussions, and small group sessions.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Perform recommended screening, diagnosis, management, and referral recommendations for children with congenital heart disease, including understanding post-operative care, neurodevelopmental outcomes, quality of life, and medication issues.
  2. Perform recommended screening, diagnosis, management, and referral recommendations for genetically related cardiac issues.
  3. Implement management and referral recommendations for exercise restrictions and return to play guidelines in children with possible cardiac issues.
  4. Perform recommended diagnosis, management, and referral recommendations for common pediatric cardiology issues such as chest pain, palpitations, syncope, heart murmurs, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and abnormal ECG findings.
  5. Collaborate with the entire health care team to improve communication among all team members.

In support of improving patient care, Nationwide Children's Hospital is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC),  the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
