This is the 4th annual pediatric dermatology conference hosted by the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Dermatology Clinic team highlighting updates on pediatric dermatologic conditions frequently seen in the primary care practice. The goal is to equip primary care providers with the knowledge and resources to confidently care for these patients within their setting, as well as, to give providers insights into the pediatric dermatology clinic. This year we will focus on psoriasis, vitiligo, nail changes, what to know about systemic medications used in pediatric dermatology, social media trends, diaper dermatitis, how to manage common consults, psychological impacts of pediatric dermatology, and more. Bring your patient questions to this year’s breakout session’s mediators. Our breakout sessions will include wound care recommendations, wart and molluscum treatment, and approaches to urticaria.

1. Identify common pediatric dermatologic conditions such as vitiligo and psoriasis.
2. Describe implications of systemic medications used in pediatric dermatology on primary care providers.
3. Integrate updated treatment recommendations for pediatric dermatologic conditions
4. Improve patient outcomes through interprofessional communication and care.

It is policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Office of Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education for individuals who are in a position to control the content of an educational activity to disclose to the learners all relevant financial relationships that they have with any commercial interest that provide products or services that may be relevant to the content of this continuing education activity. 

The intent of this policy is to ensure that Nationwide Children’s Hospital CME/CE certified activities promote quality and safety, are effective in improving medical practice, are based on valid content, and are independent of control from ineligible companies (those whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients) and free of commercial bias.  Mitigation methods including peer review of all content was conducted for all faculty presentations whose disclosure information was found to contain relationships that created a conflict of interest relevant to the topic of their presentation.

In addition, all faculty were instructed to provide balanced, scientifically rigorous and evidence-based presentations. All recommendations for patient care in accredited continuing education must be based on current science, evidence, and clinical reasoning, while giving a fair and balanced view of diagnostic and therapeutic options.  All scientific research referred to, reported, or used in accredited education in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing no less than 20 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after that date. Please send cancellation requests to [email protected].

The symposium takes place on September 26, 2025 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio.  In past years, we have welcomed over 100 local and regional primary care providers.  This year, we will once again be in-person only with the hope of attracting even more attendees.  If you are interested in joining us, please complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION process.

The intention of the Symposium is to educate providers of the various conditions and treatments that are addressed and carried out in the field of Dermatology. Our ultimate goal is for these providers to apply this knowledge to their community of patients to provide timelier care and treatment.
