Dr. Ihuoma Eneli is She is a board certified general pediatrician and Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University. She is Director, Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition, Columbus, Ohio. In her role as director of Nationwide Children's Hospital Center for Healthy Weight and Nutrition, Dr. Eneli oversees a comprehensive tertiary care pediatric obesity center with activities that include advocacy, prevention, medical weight management and adolescent bariatric surgery. Dr. Eneli is a leader in pediatric obesity. She is a co-author of the 2023 AAP Clinical Practice Guideline on Childhood Obesity. She is actively engaged in research, has several publications and has received funding from several sources including the National Institutes of Health. She has particular interest in intervention research for pediatric obesity.  She has served in leadership and advisory roles for several organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), Children’s Hospital Association (CHA). She is an associate director for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Institute for the Healthy Childhood Weight. Dr Eneli is an Associate Director for the American Academy of Pediatrics Institute for Healthy Childhood Weight and Vice Chair of the NAM Roundtable on Obesity Solutions. She is also co-Director of the NCH Childhood Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship. In 2021, she was awarded the prestigious National Academic Pediatric Association (APA) Healthcare Delivery Award in recognition of her work on childhood obesity. Dr. Eneli received her M.D. from University of Nigeria. She completed her pediatric residency and a M.S. in Epidemiology and clinical research fellowship from Michigan State University.
