Nancy Auer APRN FNP-BC Biography

Nancy has spent 38 years in the nursing field, 25 years as a nurse practitioner with nearly two decades in Neurology. Prior to joining us at NCH, she held positions at Children’s Hospital of Illinois and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She has received numerous awards throughout her career including the American Association of Neurology Nurses Innovative Practice Award and also the Excellence Award for Nurse Practitioners within the last 3 years.

She has been a contributor to several scholarly articles with the latest being published in Pediatrics in July 2024 on Seizure action plans and rescue medications. She has an article as well, which will soon be submitted for publication, on Autism and Epilepsy, which is an area of passion within Neurology that she enjoys. She is involved with multiple QI projects within Neurology, all connected with the comorbidities of Epilepsy.

She currently holds the position of the Clinical Lead for the fantastic group of Neurology APP’s at NCH. Her practice is in the Complex Epilepsy Clinic and Epilepsy Surgery Clinic.
