Theresa Hatton is the Care Connection Strategic Initiatives Manager at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH). She manages several consulting projects on behalf of the School Health Services team, working in conjunction with health care providers and schools to build sustainable, integrated systems of school-based care throughout Ohio. Prior to joining NCH, Theresa served in various roles with the State of Ohio, most recently as the School Based Health Care lead for the Ohio Department of Medicaid. The Ohio School Based Health Care initiative is a joint effort between Ohio Medicaid, Ohio Departments of Education, Health, and Mental Health and Addiction Services to create a connected community around each Ohio student in order to reduce chronic absenteeism and prepare the whole child for future success. Under the Kasich Administration, she served as the Chief of Staff for the Governor’s Office of Health Transformation (OHT). Additionally, Theresa worked in government affairs for Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter, Ohio Governor Bob Taft and the Ohio Senate. Theresa serves as the Vice-Chair of the Ohio School Based Health Alliance and has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bowling Green State University.
